Visakhapatnam’s Gangavaram Port is one of India’s major ports situated in the East Coast of India and located in between Chennai Port and Kolkata Ports. Inaugrated in 2009, it is India’s deepest port and has a depth of 21 m.

The first client of the Gangavaram Port is the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (aka ‘Vizag Steel’), which runs the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, and earlier used the Visakhapatnam Port. The Gangavaram port is capable of handling Super Cape size vessels of up to 200,000 DWT
